Trip highlight:
The hilltribes of Northern Vietnam are now so iconic and have been featured photographically in so many instances, that you may feel already somewhat familiar with them, but the truth is that those tribes, still living in their traditional ways, exist only in the most remote areas of South East Asia, and Ha Giang Province, open only relatively recently to travellers, is without doubt one of the best places left to witness the culture of these people.
This unspoilt, sparsely populated region is home to a staggering variety of hilltribes, many of whom don’t even communicate in the national language and who live by their traditional, subsistence farming ways.
The riding is some of the most amazing in South East Asia. Every day offers a different terrain, gradient, vista and climate as we climb and descent the various altitudes of the Ha Giang Plateau. This is a ride to remember and if the memory of burning leg muscles aren’t enough to remember it by, then your amazing photographs almost certainly will be.

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival & Night train to Lao Cai

Welcome to Vietnam. Arriving at Noi Bai International Airport, Snail Adventure Tour guide and driver will greet and pick you up to the hotel at the heart of Hanoi capital. Hanoi, the antique and dynamic city of Vietnam, reserves a unique old world charm and several of the most striking colonial architecture of Asia. After the checking-in, Take relax by your own and do briefing itinerary with our guide for coming days. enjoy a cyclo ride through the bustling streets in the Old Quarter to discover the ancient and modern beauty of Hanoi. After the tour, you will be warmly welcome with a special welcoming dinner in a typical Vietnamese food restaurant. Following dinner meal, our shuttle bus take  to Train Station to catch the night Train to Lao Cai. Stay over night train with four cabin share ( wooden cabin – soft bed with aircondition)

Day 2: Lao Cai –   Cao Son – Coc ly -  Bac Ha

The Train arrives  Lao cai Train station at 5: 30 A.m. Our cycling guide and support van will pick you up to Local Restaurant for early breakfast and change your cycling suit. Following the hearty meal, we kick off our pedal to Coc Ly  on paved and scenic road. You explore  dramatic sightseeing and exotic nature on the way.  Arriving in Coc Ly  at 10 A.m. we will spend the time to participate in Local market open on every Tuesday. You are impressive on colorful hill tribe market with their unique productions to exchange with eachother or you can go to animal corner to take picture  buffalo, cows, dog,cats... are dealing with. We continue to ride on  single track to Bao Nhai bridge and turn off to Bac Ha town.  Upon arriving in Hotel, do check in and relax by your own. Have dinner and stay in Sao mai Hotel

Day 3: Bac Ha – Can Cau Market – Ta Cu Ty Village

After hearty breakfast in hotel, we commence riding from hotel  on tarmac road lead to Ngai Thau commune, crossing suspension bridge and ride on single dirt track along exotic valley for 4 km and then ascending  5 km up steep hill trail to Lung Phinh, upon arriving in top,  stop for refeshment before turning left for 22 km single dirt track  to Can Cau market place. You will be fascinated by breathtaking scenery, friendly people, picturesque rice terrace. Up on arriving in Can Cau , our shuttle bus take you to Ta Cu Ty home village. Have dinner and stay over night local Family

Day 4: Ta Cu Ty – Ban Ngo – Nam Dan

To day is amazing day with full of highlight and cultural values when we cycle through rice terraces and around  villages to village.  Admire incredible scenic beauty, unspoiled nature and colourful hill tribal villages. After entertainining   pancake with Host, we say good bye them and start cycling from homestay  on single track which form a hlf circle around the Ta Cu Ty mountain range and is combination of short lose rocky part and dirt trail with some streams crosses for 22 km from Ta Cu Ty to Dan Kham village of Ban Ngo commune via some villages and hamlets of the Nung, Hmong, Dao people. Have lunch enroute
After lunch we make a longer loop fro roughly 3 hours along dirt path and narrow single track from Dan Khao – Che La commune explore the daily life of local people and thick forest. Arriving Nam Dan commune, we turn right and gradually getting down hill for 7 km to suspension bridge  and back to home stay. Have dinner and stay over night in Homestay.

Day 5: Nam Dan – Nam Nhung – Khau Rom – Nam Choong

Breakfast with Host family and say goo bye them, we commence to ride through thick rain forest on motor way for 14 km over the Gio pass to another side of mountain.  Turn left  to a single dirt track for 12 km  mostly steep down hill through tea farm, terrace rice paddies, bamboo forest, passing some isolated hamlets of Dao and Hmong ethnic of Nam Nhung and Khau Rom village to the main road ,running along the Nam Ly river. Take the single dirt track up hill 5 kn throught he Phieng Lang and Quang thuong villages of the Red Dao and then 3 km  on the hill side with not to much ascending and descending road,. Challenge 5 km down hill along the a narrow and steep dirt track to Nam Choong villages. Where we have another homestay with local family.

Day 6: Nam Choong – Cao Son – Ho Thau - Panhou

After breakfast with famlily, we start cycling at 8:30 a.m along a narrow  single track from Nam Choong for 6 km to the center of Quang Nguyen Commune then following  a single track gradually ascending through the Nam Ly river 10 km to Trung Son village. Challenging 4 km undulating and steep trail lead to suspension bridge to another bank of Nam Ly river. Turning off  a larger single dirt track up hill for 5 km to Chien Thang village and then gradually down hill for 6km to the center of Ho thau commune. Arriving in Ho Thau ride on paved road  descending to Thong Nguyen Commune. Stay over night in Panhou eco resort.

Day 7: Thong Nguyen – Lam Thuong

Today is beautiful day in our cycling trip. Following breakfast in Panhou eco resort. We kick off our pedal on paved road passing many hill tribe villages and rice terrace paddies  and ascending to T junction. Turn right to Tan Quang Town on undulating road.  Upon arriving Tan Quang township, stop for refeshment and  coffee. After filling energy, we continue  riding on undulating road  to Lam Thuong. On the way you experience in maverlous scenery, limestone mountain panoramas. Have picnic lunch enroute. After lunch we keep riding to Lam Thuongj Village where we will stay over night.

Day 8: Lam Thuong –  Luc Yen - Vu Linh

In Luc Yen district, Yen Bai province, there is a unique market in the country where people trade only one product – gemstones. The market has had a history of 25 years.
Luc Yen gem market is open at a beautiful corner of a lake in Yen The town, Luc Yen district. The market works in just several hours in every morning. Depending on reasons and weather, the market can take place sooner or later, but at about 6.30 am there are sellers in the market.  
LucYen  Market is one of the biggest gemstone market in the north Vietnam. Opening early morning everyday. If you are interesting in gemstone, you can getup early and explore the daily life and their business.come back hotel for having breakfast. We start cycling from Hotel on single track trail and village road  around Thac Ba Lake to Vu Linh.  Passing many stunning scenery, peaceful Dao Villages,picturesque lake view. Have lunch enroute. After lunch we continue to ride on single dirt track and cross bamboo raft to Vu linh Resort. Have dinner and saty over night in Vu linh Resort. The rest of the day , you can take boat trip to explore Thac Ba lake and enjoy sunset on the lake.

Day 9: Vu Linh – Son Duong - Hanoi

To day is last day in our cycling trip in the north Vietnam with full of highlight and cultural values, experiences in local customes and practic of diferrent hill tribe people, enjoy incredible landscape and scenic beauty of Vietnam. We spend the last day to explore and exprience breathtaking scenery and challenging your ability. Start  riding from Resort, crossing again bamboo raft to village road, following single track and village road  to Yen binh, My Bang and Hung Quan, Doi Can commune ,  crossing the  An Hoa bridge turn right to Son Duong on tarmac road.  Have lunch enroute or in local restaurant in Son Duong Town. After lunch we descending to Dao Tru. The rest distance is transfered by Bus to Hanoi. Arrving in Hanoi. Do check in and relax until meeting time for dinning.
