Itinerary

The far north of Vietnam is an absolutely amazing place, brimming with endless hidden beauty. It boasts some of the most amazing and majestic natural landscapes you could ever imagine, with primeval old forests that are coloured by time and meticulously carved terraced fields around the hillsides and slopes of mountains like fortresses towering between heaven and earth.
These incredible landscapes have been captured on camera so many times, and it's easy to see why! You might already be familiar with some of these tribes, but the truth is that they still live in their traditional ways in the most remote areas of South East Asia – and it's a truly incredible experience to see them in their natural habitat! Ha Giang Province is one of the best places in the world to witness the culture of these wonderful people! It has only recently opened up to travellers, so it's still very much off the beaten track.
We'd absolutely love to welcome you on our incredible
14-day Sapa – Bac Ha – Hoang Su Phi – Ha Giang – Cao Bang Border Belt Bicycle Tour! You'll get to experience the area's absolutely stunning scenery and rich cultural diversity!
We'll kick off our
bike tour in the absolutely gorgeous town of Sapa! It's nestled in the Hoang Lien Son mountain range near the Chinese border in northwestern Vietnam, and it's known as the "Tonkinese Alps" – a truly breathtaking location! Sapa and its surrounding region is home to so many amazing things! There are hill tribes, rice terraces, lush vegetation, and Fansipan, the highest peak in Vietnam.
This is an amazing opportunity for you to immerse yourself in the incredible mountains, thick rainforest, lush plantations, wild nature and friendly people from different ethnic minority groups with their colourful and fantastic culture and customs. Get ready to cycle through the Sapa mountains and villages and soak up the incredible beauty and culture around every corner!

Then, we'll cycle on to Bac Ha, a hilltop town that's renowned as one of the gems of Vietnam's north – it's going to be amazing! Bac Ha may not be as breathtakingly gorgeous as Sapa, but it still has its own unique charm! The absolute highlight is the lively Sunday market, where you'll find locals from various ethnic groups, including the Flower H'mong, Tay, Dzao, Nung, and Giay – it's an incredible experience! This is going to be an amazing trip! Incredible! There are 10 different ethnic groups in total!
A visit to the market is an amazing way to get to know their way of life! You could even haggle for a pig, a chicken, a water buffalo or perhaps just some handicrafts and some of the renowned local wine! One thing's for sure, you'll fall head over heels with the city and its famously friendly people!

Hoang Su Phi is one of the most incredible, untouched regions of Vietnam! It's absolutely amazing to see communities that have lived in total isolation from mainstream society until very recently! At an average elevation of 800 m above sea level, this area is blessed with soaring mountains, deep valleys, sparkling streams and lush forestland. It's an area of outstanding natural beauty and unspoiled traditional life – truly incredible!
You'll feel like you're on top of the world! On our
cycling trip, we'll have the incredible opportunity to explore the villages, rice terraces and maize terraces cultivated by the Red Dao and Tay tribes. As we make our way to the eco-villages or bungalows, we're greeted by the most wonderful, aromatic scents of cardamom and star anise filling the air!

Ha Giang is the most incredible destination in the country! There's so much to see and do! You'll love Happiness Road, Dong Van Plateau, Khau Vai Love Market, Quan Ba Sky Gate, and the mysterious, majestic, twisting and winding passes. Down in the valley, hidden away in the clouds, you'll find some absolutely lovely, rustic villages full of the H'mong people!
Just over 200 km from Hanoi, in the northeast of Vietnam,
Ha Giang is the last province of the country to open to visitors in recent years – and it's well worth the wait! It's an incredible journey that you'll never forget! The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, the forests are untouched by time, and the mountains are soaring to the sky. The area is full of natural fortresses, carved into steps, and rocky plateaus divided by winding stone alleys. This incredible landscape has been home to many generations of H'mong people. The winding roads in the Ha Giang rocky plateau are not just challenging for those who love to explore and move, but they're also a bit heartbreaking for many people because of amazing beauty.

The scenery on those roads is always green and green, full of life and energy! It's a truly breathtaking scene that's both poetic and mysterious. It's an absolute delight for the eyes and the emotions!

Cao Bang is an absolute hidden gem in north-east Vietnam! It's an incredible place, full of natural beauty! You'll find a magnificent Ban Gioc waterfall, a range of limest

one mountains, colourful ethnic minority villages, a jag Quay Son river bending towards lush rice paddy fields, and so much more! And there's more! You can also experience the vibrant traditional culture of the ethnic minority.  If you love nature or are passionate about exploration, the 14-day Sapa-Ha Giang-Cao Bang border belt bicycle tour is definitely worth your time.

As we cycle along the lovely, winding road from Dong Van to Meo Vac, we're treated to some truly spectacular views of a vast gorge. This road is so lovely, it winds and undulates, and you can see the Nho Que River below. From the Ma Phi Leng Pass, we look down into the valley from around 1500 metres up. It's so lovely to see that most of the tribes living here have managed to preserve their way of life, free from outside influence. It's only recently that travelling to Meo Vac has become easier, with the construction of new roads.
The lovely town centre of Meo Vac has a market every day, which is mainly used by the White Hmong, Tay and Lo Lo hill tribes. It's so lovely to see women dressed in their brightly coloured traditional clothing walking into the town, carrying their bamboo-woven baskets laden with corn and vegetables! Today we're going to take a lovely, quiet mountain road to Bao Lac.
We've got a lovely, easy 2 km stretch on a flat road just outside Dong Van Town, before we tackle a 7 km ascent on a winding road with a sharp turn at the top.  We're going to have a lovely time cycling downhill for 16 km along the hillside to Meo Vac town.

We'll stop on a side road to visit a local market or explore the daily life of the hill tribal people. We'll have lunch en route.
