Itinerary
Welcome to Vietnam! We're so happy you're here. Our country is home to some truly breathtaking landscapes. From the majestic high mountains to the heritage sites and the terraced rice fields, there's so much to take in. We know you'll be enchanted from the moment you arrive.
On our 14-day cycling tour in Northern Vietnam, you'll be immersed in a world of fairy-like scenery and the shimmering colours of the highland people. You'll also get to cycle through some rugged, hilly roads, which we promise will be the best experience ever! We'd love for you to join us and help us conquer one of the most incredible roads in Vietnam!
We've put together a cycling tour in North Vietnam that we think you'll love! It's one of the most amazing cycling routes in the north of Vietnam, and we promise you'll have an extremely enjoyable experience if you're looking for a once-in-a-lifetime bicycle tour.
We'll set off on our cycling tours from Hanoi, and we'll be pedalling through some gorgeous scenery, including stunning rice paddy fields and vast limestone mountain ranges, all the way to the north-East of Vietnam.
If you're looking for a truly off-the-beaten-track destination, look no further than Ha Giang! This hidden gem is more than 200 km from Hanoi, in the northeast of Vietnam. It's the last province of the country to be opened and allowed to visit in recent years, and it's well worth the wait!
The scenery is nothing short of spectacular, with primeval forests and high mountains that will take your breath away. The area is full of natural fortresses, carved into steps, and rocky plateaus divided by fanciful stone alleys.
Get ready to embark on an amazing journey by bike! We'll be exploring Happiness Road, the incredible Dong Van Plateau, the vibrant Khau Vai Love Market, the breathtaking Quan Ba Sky Gate, and the mysterious, majestic, twisting and winding passes that have been hidden in dense clouds, far down the valley. Along the way, we'll also get to experience the cozy and rustic villages of the H'mong people.
Get ready to take on some amazing challenges as we wind our way up incredible passes, hugging the hillside and soaring over misty valleys.
At the foot of the mountain, you'll find some truly incredible sights! There are immense tropical primeval forests, waterfalls and streams that irrigate fertile fields, creating some truly wonderful pictures of nature.
The valleys and high mountain slopes are home to the lovely ethnic minority villages of the Hmong, Dao, Day, and Tay. These wonderful people have created unique and attractive cultural colours in their daily lives, festivals, and weekend markets.
Cycling on dirt roads and small concrete roads that wind through terraced fields, following the stream to reach the peaceful, quiet villages nestled under the canopy of ancient trees is a delight. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, try your best with countless small steep slopes that weave in the ravine, hidden in the morning mist.
When climbing to the top, we can feel our emotions breaking down, and a whole magical and majestic scene appears in front of the radiant, beautiful eyes. The fatigue suddenly dissolves along with the white clouds radiating in all directions.
Day 01: Hanoi – Transfer to Tuyen Quang and Cycle to Ha Giang
After enjoying a hearty breakfast in the hotel, we set off to leave the hustling and bustling city behind. Our shuttle bus transfer to the cycling point takes two hours, but it's well worth it! Once we get to the cycling point, we get our bikes ready and set off on a lovely bike ride along a beautiful, scenic road. We pass through lots of lovely, quaint villages and see some truly stunning farmlands on our way to Son Duong town, where we have lunch. After a lovely lunch, we hop back on our bikes and enjoy a beautiful ride along a tarmac road to Tuyen Quang. Then, we turn off onto National Road No. 2 to Vi Xuyen Town. Then it's just a short hop to Ha Giang for check-in! Once you've checked in to the hotel, why not treat yourself to a lovely dinner at a local restaurant?
