The cycling distance may be relatively long, but the terrain is a mixture of flat, undulating, ascending and descending roads, which makes it an amazing trip! The climate is warm and damp, so you will need a reasonable level of fitness to enjoy it, but there will always be a support car if you need to rest for an hour or a day.
The road conditions are a perfect combination of smooth, paved surfaces and rugged gravel paths, making this an ideal trip for anyone, no matter their cycling skill level! However, we highly recommend that you practise off-road so that you feel comfortable commencing your trip.
There may be some glitches along the way – maybe a puncture here and there – but this is undoubtedly an incredible adventure.
The weather in this area may vary depending on the season. Be prepared to get sweaty and for frequent rain storms, which may require a change of plan – but that's all part of the fun!
Day 01; Hanoi Arrival
Welcome to Vietnam! As soon as you arrive at Noi Bai International Airport, our friendly Snail Adventure tour guide and driver will greet you and whisk you away to your hotel, right in the heart of Hanoi's vibrant capital. Hanoi is an incredible city, a perfect blend of ancient charm and modern vibrancy. It's home to some of the most breathtaking colonial architecture in Asia, adding a touch of old-world elegance to its already unique character. Once you've checked in, kick back and relax. Then, get ready for an amazing trip with our guide! You'll explore the incredible sights of Hanoi on a cyclo ride through the buzzing streets of the Old Quarter. Day 02: Hanoi – Tuyen Quang – Ha Giang Cycle Loop
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we set off on an adventure! We left the hustling and bustling city behind and headed to the north-east of Vietnam, to the beautiful Ha Giang province. Get ready to be blown away by the incredible scenery and lush landscapes along the way to the Far North of Vietnam! You'll even get to have lunch with the local people!
After lunch, we'll get our bikes fixed up and then it's time for the best part: our incredible cycling tours in the Far North of Vietnam!
Get ready for an amazing adventure as we embark on a scenic bike ride along a winding road that takes us from one village to the next. We'll be exploring single track trails, dirt roads, and even buffalo roads, crossing streams and passing through picturesque rice terrace paddy fields. As we ride, we meet different hill tribes, such as the Coin Dzao, Tay, Nung and Hmong people, who have been living in this area for hundreds of years. They create dreamlike scenery and unique cultural values. Cycling on back roads leads to eco-villages where we can relax and observe the daily life of people in this community. We have dinner and stay overnight in Ha Giang Wing Bungalow.

Day 03: Ha Giang Cycle Tour Quang Ba – Yen Minh
We set off this morning, raring to go! We're heading out of town on a cycling adventure, taking in the stunning scenery of terraced rice paddy fields along the way. We then have the incredible opportunity to cycle through minority villages, before embarking on the next 25km up winding roads into the vast limestone mountain range with its perpendicular walls of rock. We'll be climbing 800m towards the mountain road pass "Heaven Gate 1" – what an adventure! As we pass through mountain villages sometimes covered by cloud, we will receive a friendly greeting from the local communities, which is always a wonderful surprise! From the pass, we can enjoy incredible views, including the famous Tam Son Valley with its stunning Twin Hills and the town of Quan Ba. We'll have lunch on the summit and soak in the breathtaking scenery. After a delicious lunch, we're off again on our bikes! We'll be riding down to the river and then along to Gam river until we meet another pass. We get to cycle uphill for the first few km before we get to enjoy a descent of around 10km. Then it's on to relatively flat terrain for the next 10km! Get ready for an exhilarating ride as we tackle the challenging terrain, ascending and descending to an altitude of 1,025 metres. Then, for the grand finale, we'll embark on a thrilling descent for the last 15 kilometres into Yenh Minh. We'll even get to see the traditional homes of the local hill tribes! The communities in this area are Chinese, and they are absolutely wonderful!

Day 04: Yen Minh – Mau Due – Lung Phin - Dong Van Mountain Bike
Today is an amazing day for cycling in the incredible Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark! We took a detour onto a minor road that took us on a lovely, rolling route before descending into the valley. Here we have the amazing opportunity to ride through tiny hill-tribe communities and eventually reach a bustling village market where we will find a dazzling array of brightly-costumed villagers trading everything from piglets to bamboo shoots and forest fodder.
After following a river for a short while, we come across the ruins of an ancient defensive wall. Just beyond, we start to climb! A gradient similar to the day before is a fantastic warm-up before the main climb to come after lunch. As we enter the Ha Giang Plateau, the scenery is nothing short of mind-blowing – it's even more impressive than before! At each stage, you find yourself wondering how on earth you could possibly continue to climb when you've already climbed so much, but it just goes on and on with an amazing variety of scenery! When you finally descend into Dong Van, you'll be ready for a beer and a feast! And you'll be so tired from the epic Ha Giang Plateau climb that you'll sleep like a baby.

Day 05 : Dong Van – Lung Cu Plag Pole – Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng – Meo Vac
Get ready for an amazing day of cycling in the heart of the incredible Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark! Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel and then head over to the nearby hill tribe market for a quick visit. After that, it's time to hit the road on the way of Happiness to Dong Van! As you cycle up to the summit, you are rewarded with unparalleled views of pristine nature and the magnificent Karst Plateau scenery! Next, we'll stop to visit and explore the incredible Hmong King Palace (also known as Vuong Chi Sinh Palace). Then, we'll continue cycling to the breathtaking Lung Cu Pole Flag Tower!
As we cycle along the modest road from Dong Van to Meo Vac, we are treated to spectacular views of a vast gorge. This road is a real treat! It winds and undulates, and the Nho Que River is there to greet you at every turn. From the incredible Ma Phi Leng Pass, we look down into the valley from an amazing altitude of around 1500m. We're staying tonight in the lovely little town of Meo Vac. It's so inspiring to see that most of the tribes living here have managed to preserve their way of life, free from outside influence. It's incredible that they've managed to do this, especially given that travelling to Meo Vac was almost impossible until the recent construction of new roads.

Day 06: Meo Vac – Mau Due - Du Gia Cycling loop
What a fantastic day for discovering and conquering the incredible Dong Van geological plateau! Make sure you recharge your batteries fully for the epic exploring to Du Gia!
We're off on another amazing cycling adventure! We'll be setting off from the border town of Meo Vac and cycling out of town. Get ready for our endurance test, because we're climbing a slope of more than 5 km with an altitude of more than 200 meters on a gravel road. Then, we'll be zigzagging through the cliffs on concrete to reach the Sa Phin village. And now for something truly spectacular! The long slope begins to pass through the towering cat-eared rocky mountains or weaves through a forest of high sharp rocks to create a scene that is as majestic, mysterious and poetic as contemplative rock paintings. It's a truly awe-inspiring sight, boasting the vastness of heaven and earth.
Our journey quickly takes us down into the valley, where we'll meet the second pass, the M-pass. This incredible crossing takes us over the two sides of the mountain range, all the way to Mau Due valley for lunch!
Once we've refuelled for the next stage of our journey, we'll conquer the remaining two passes: Mau Due Lung Ho Summit before plunging into the stunning Du Gia Valley. The incredible scenery along the way always fills us with excitement and energy, ready to conquer the last stretch!

Day 07: Du Gia – Lung Ho – Thai An – Thuan Hoa – Ha Giang Cycling Loop
Start your day with a hearty breakfast at a local Vietnamese restaurant before setting off on a new cycling adventure from the Ecolodge. Get ready to challenge an incredible pass that winds its way along a hillside and up a slope of a mountain to the Lung Ho Summit! You'll be blown away by the incredible panoramic vista with rugged, rocky mountain ranges over Lung Ho Valley. Get ready to be amazed by the sunrise over the mysterious valley and dreamlike landscapes in the villages!
Get ready for an exhilarating challenge as we make our way up a steep pass with a winding route and switchbacks, all the way to the summit. Refreshment with cold water and a snack will be waiting for us before we descend to Lung Ho Commune, where we'll turn off the secondary road and cycle through narrow valleys with corn fields and groundnut plantations. We quickly hit the second steep hill and are thrilled to take it on, winding our way along the canopy forest and hillsides up to the summit.
Time for a quick refreshment stop before we dive into the mysterious valleys for a picnic lunch! Once we've had a chance to recharge our batteries, we'll gear up our bikes and tackle the steep hilltop to Thai An.
Then it's on to Ha Giang Town for the next stage of our cycling adventure! When you arrive at the hotel, make sure you check in and then treat yourself to a well-deserved rest! Our second day in Ha Giang Town is going to be amazing! We're going to explore the city and try the local beer. Then it's time for dinner and an overnight stay in Ha Giang!

Day 08: Ha Giang – Hanoi – Taking Express Train to Hue
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel before spending the day at your leisure until it's time to depart. Our fantastic team will be waiting to greet you again and will transfer you back to Hanoi city via Thai Nguyen. We'll even stop on the way for lunch! After lunch, we'll enjoy some delicious meals! We're now heading to Hanoi on the new highway! Upon arrival in Hanoi, Time for a refreshing shower and a delicious dinner at a local restaurant! Then it's off to catch the night train to Hue!

Day 09: Hue Cycling Tours
The express train is scheduled to arrive in Hue at 9:30 a.m. sharp! We'll meet our fantastic escorted guide and support vehicle again, before taking a transfer to a local restaurant for breakfast!
After breakfast, we'll fit the bike and set off on a leisurely cycle tour of Hue city and citadel, as well as the Royal to Imperial Citadel and Tomb Architecture. Hue is one of the main cultural, religious and educational centres of Vietnam, so it's a great opportunity to soak up some of the country's rich history! Hue is a truly special place, the only city in Vietnam with such a rich and fascinating history. Hue is home to a plethora of attractions, nestled along the banks of the Perfume River, a river with a romantic name and an impressive 11km length! This incredible construction includes more than 100 architectural wonders, each a reflection of the lives of the emperors and mandarins who lived and ruled during the Nguyen period.
We also get to ride to the incredible tombs of ancient kings! You'll find the tombs of the Nguyen Kings in a stunning location, nestled in the hills on the southern bank of the Perfume River. And there's more! Among these tombs are four famous ones, each with its own name and unique arrangements. Each reflects the Emperor's individual points of view, personality, and tastes. This is the magnificent Gia Long tomb, the imposing Minh Mang tomb, the poetic Tu Duc tomb and the magnificent Khai Dinh tomb. If you're an architect with a passion for ancient architecture, Hue's old citadel vestiges are an absolute must-see! We cycle back to the hotel in the late afternoon, free until dinner time. We have a delicious dinner in a local restaurant, then we're off to bed at the amazing Imperial Hotel.

Day 10: Hue Bike Tour Lang Co Beach
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we're off on a new adventure! We'll be cycling to the Thanh Toan covered bridge, and the journey is full of surprises. You'll get to admire stunning views of rural villages and the imperial city along the way. You'll love seeing the typical images of traditional Vietnamese houses, communal houses and local markets! You'll have a fantastic opportunity to interact with some really friendly people! When you arrive in Thanh Toan Village, you'll have the chance to visit and take pictures of one of the most incredible covered roof bridges in the world! This amazing bridge was built in 1776 by a kind-hearted woman. And now for something really special! Our cycling tour takes us through some truly beautiful, tranquil villages and along a stunning lagoon to the incredible Thuan An Beach. Enjoy a refreshing break with delicious cold water and tropical fruits! We also have the incredible opportunity to ride through a fascinating village, where you can admire hundreds of magnificent museums! We then ride on a lovely tarmac road to Tu Hien Lagoon, crossing a bridge and climbing a short pass before descending to a T-junction on Highway No. 1. Then it's off to a local restaurant for a delicious lunch! After lunch, we'll ride on a brand new, paved road that will take us straight to the incredible Lang Co Beach! When we arrive, we'll check in at the amazing Front Beach Resort, where we can kick back and relax with a cold beer in the swimming pool. Then it's time for dinner and a well-deserved night's sleep in your very own room at the fantastic Front Beach Resort!

Day 11: Lang Co Beach – Hai Van Pass – Da Nang – Hoi An
Guess what! Today is one of the best days of our trip so far! We're cycling and taking on one of the most famous mountain roads in Southeast Asia. The amazing Hai Van Pass connects Da Nang and Hue, and today you'll be riding over it! Make sure you treat yourself to a lovely, hearty breakfast! As you start your ascent to the highest point, you'll see why this mountain pass is thought to be one of the most beautiful coastal mountain roads in the world! As you wind and hug the cliffs on one side, you'll be treated to sweeping beach views on the other. You'll also pass by waterfalls and jungles. The weather might be a little misty, but that just adds to the area's magic!
Once you've made it to the top, treat yourself to a well-deserved cup of coffee while you take in the absolutely gorgeous views. Once we've taken in the incredible views from the highest point, we'll have a well-deserved rest with a cold drink and tropical fruit. Then it's time to head back down 14 km to Da Nang city.
We'll be cycling along the coast, passing resorts and alluring sand beaches on our way to Hoi An Town. When you arrive in Hoi An in the late afternoon, be sure to check in and enjoy a cold beer! We'd love for you to join us for dinner and an overnight stay in Hoi An!

Day 12: Hoi An Back road by bike
Hoi An is a truly special place. It's a World Heritage Site in Vietnam and has long been a cultural crossroads. It's incredible how it has retained its ancient beauty after nearly 300 cycles of the four seasons! The buildings and street plan reflect the influences of both indigenous and foreign cultures, creating a unique heritage site like no other! Cycle through the ancient town and rural villages for an exciting challenge. Our incredible journey begins at the hotel, where we embark on a thrilling ride through the countryside. We'll explore single-track trails, paved roads, and tranquil villages, all while admiring the beauty of coconut palm trees and lush green rice fields. Along the way, we'll capture the stunning image of a Japanese-style bridge and the unique charm of communal houses.
Then, we'll venture to Thanh Ha, where traditional ceramic villages and the vibrant herb market of Tra Que await us. We'll also stop by the workshops of lattern lamp shades in Thuy Linh. After that, we'll return to Hoi An for a delicious lunch.
After lunch, we'll head to Cua Dai for a refreshing swim in the vast, sandy beach. It's the perfect way to relax and unwind after a day of exploring. Then it's time for dinner and a stay at the amazing Hoi An Riverside Resort!

Day 13: Hoi An – Tam Ky –Quang Ngai
We're leaving the charming town behind and heading out on a short boat trip to cross the Thu Bon River to Duy Hai village! From there, we'll start cycling through many fishing villages along the coast to Ha Lam town. We'll take our bus to Tam Ky town for lunch, and then it's back to the boat for the journey back to the charming town. After lunch, we'll drive to Chi Thanh Town and then cycle to the My Lai museum, which is now a War Remnants museum in Quang Ngai province. We had a great night in our hotel!

Day 14: Quang Ngai – Sa Huynh beach

We're so excited to start our new cycling adventure holiday along the coast! We'll be passing through lots of authentic villages and fishing farms, as well as seafood markets and a local boat dock. Then, we'll hop on our bikes and cruise along the river to cycle through the fishing farms and along the coastline. We also love spending time getting to know the lovely local people and learning about their daily lives. We'll have lunch along the way, too! After lunch, we'll continue our bike tours further south until we reach Sa Huynh Sand Beach Resort.

Day 15: Sa Huynh – Quy Nhon
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we set off on our bikes from the resort, ready to explore the beautiful coastline. We ride along the coast, taking in the stunning scenery and enjoying the fresh sea air. We had a bit of a challenge ahead of us with two incredible and steep passes between the rural village and the coastal lines, but we got through it! We then have the pleasure of descending along the coast, where we'll find some impressive villages, beautiful lagoons and fascinating fishing farms. We'll stop for lunch along the way. We'll ride and discover so many wonderful things along the seaside, capturing the freshest, most beautiful nature and remarkable hillside. We'll keep going on the paved road through rural villages. We met some lovely people and even got to say hello to some adorable school kids along the way! We arrived in Quy Nhon in the late afternoon. Once you've checked in, you can relax and unwind. We'll be staying at the lovely Front Beach Resort.

Day 16: Quy Nhon – Tuy Hoa
Following to hearty breakfast in Hotel, Leaving the shorelines behind, our supported vehicle take transfer to Dieu Tri to avoid busy traffic. Upon arriving cycling point, setting off new amazing cycling day by winding along railway and stunning scenery. We cyclce on asphalt road, snaking amongst peaceful villages cannals and rice fields.
The terrain is gently rolling, with beautiful views of the highland foothills. We pass a mix of tribal and Viet villages. Ubiquitous potbellied pigs and barefoot children trot across your trail. Soon, we loop back to the main highway with a small climb and descent to finish the ride. We then transfer about one hour to Tuy Hoa, one of the most rural regions in Vietnam.
Have lunch enroute, taking short transfer to Tuy An where we commence to Gheng Da Dia and follow the shoreline to Tuy Hoa city. Upon arriving in Tuy Hoa, taking relax and cold beer in swimming pool.Stay overnight in Rosal Aba Hotel****

Get ready to enjoy an incredible 35 km cycling journey along a scenic route that leads to Ke Ga. Get ready for an amazing day! Start it off by cycling along the coastline and capturing the incredible moment of sunrise and the stunning natural beauty. Meet and chat with the friendly local fishmen in the market village. Then, discover the capital of "Vietnam Resort" along the breathtaking emerald sand beach. And then, for the best part, have lunch en route! After lunch, we'll continue our journey along the coast to Long Hai – Vung Tau, where we'll take a transfer to Ho Chi Minh City via the new highway. You can choose to stay in Ho Chi Minh City or extend your adventure with an exciting tour to the Mekong Delta, followed by a flight to Hanoi!
