As we leave behind the hustle and bustle of Hanoi, get ready to be captivated by the stunning landscapes and lush countryside of Far North Vietnam. Along the way, we’ll stop for a traditional lunch with the welcoming local people, offering a unique glimpse into the vibrant culture of the region.

Following lunch, we’ll prepare our bikes for the exciting cycling adventure ahead. Embark on a scenic bike ride along winding roads, single-track trails, and dirt paths that connect remote villages. Our cycling tours take us through buffalo roads, crossing streams, and passing breathtaking rice terrace paddy fields. Day 02: Ha Giang – Quang Ba – Yen Minh

Our route takes us through lush terraced rice paddies, offering panoramic views of mountainous beauty. Along the way, we’ll cycle through minority villages, immersing ourselves in the rich cultures of Vietnam’s hill tribes.

The highlight of the day comes as we embark on a challenging 25km ride up winding roads that lead us into the vast limestone mountain range. We’ll climb 800 meters towards the Heaven Gate 1 pass, a must-visit mountain pass that offers awe-inspiring vistas. As we ascend, we’ll pass through cloud-covered mountain villages, greeted warmly by the local communities—a true cultural experience.

At the top of the pass, we’ll pause to admire breathtaking views of the famous Tam Son Valley and its iconic Twin Hills, with the charming town of Quan Ba in the distance. After a delicious lunch on the summit, we continue our ride, descending to the Gam River before tackling another uphill climb, followed by a thrilling 10km descent.

As we ride on, we encounter relatively flat terrain for the next 10km, but don’t get too comfortable—prepare for more challenging cycling as we ascend to 1,025 meters before descending into Yen Minh. Along the way, we’ll pass by traditional hill tribe homes and get a firsthand look at the Chinese communities that reside in this picturesque area. Along the way, we’ll stop at a vibrant village market, where the colorful ethnic minorities trade local goods such as piglets, bamboo shoots, and forest fodder.

After following a peaceful river for a short stretch, we’ll encounter the ruins of an ancient defensive wall, adding a historical touch to our adventure. From there, we begin to climb! The first part of the ascent is a great warm-up before the main climb that awaits us after lunch. As we enter the Ha Giang Plateau, the scenery becomes even more jaw-dropping, with rocky cliffs, lush valleys, and verdant hillsides at every turn. We’ll cycle through the Sa Phin Village, where we’ll encounter majestic landscapes, with dramatic rocky outcrops that seem to rise from the earth in an awe-inspiring display of natural beauty. As we continue our ride, we’ll wind through forests of sharp rocks that add to the mystique and grandeur of this stunning region.

After a well-deserved refreshment break with cold water and a snack, we’ll begin our descent toward Lung Ho Commune. Here, we’ll cycle along narrow roads that cut through corn fields and groundnut plantations, offering a glimpse into the region's rural life.

Our journey continues as we hit a second steep incline, weaving through the canopy forest and hillsides on our way to the summit. Along the way, you’ll encounter stunning views of the surrounding valleys, making each pedal stroke worthwhile. After another quick refreshment stop, we’ll venture into the mysterious valleys for a relaxing picnic lunch to recharge.

Once we’ve regained our energy, it’s time to gear up and conquer the final ascent to Thai An, followed by the last leg of our cycling adventure toward Ha Giang Town. We’ll begin our cycling journey by heading out from the hotel and riding along a smooth asphalt road for about 2 km. From there, we’ll turn onto the inter-commune and inter-village roads, winding through the scenic hillsides and mountain slopes. These motorbike trails will take us across towering mountain ranges and deep valleys, providing the perfect test of your endurance, courage, and mountain biking skills.

The real excitement begins as we venture into the west wing of the Tay Con Linh mountain range, the farthest and most challenging part of our route. Here, you'll be surrounded by ancient tropical forests, covered in moss and teeming with magic. The stunning sight of meticulously carved terraced fields cascading down the hilltops creates an awe-inspiring view, offering a natural canvas of majestic and enchanting landscapes.

After a satisfying breakfast to fuel up for the day, our group embarks on an incredible cycling adventure. We start by descending downhill to the main road, before continuing along the road to the junction. From here, we turn onto the village road, where the true adventure begins—conquering steep slopes and riding through beautiful terraced rice fields and lush green roads, adorned with vibrant plants and flowers. Our first stop is the charming Nam Hong Village.

We then continue along the mountain trail, cycling to Nam Ai Village, where you'll have the chance to photograph incredible cloud formations and capture the beauty of the misty valley below. The valley is alive with terraced fields, peaceful villages, and small streams feeding the irrigation canals that nourish the golden rice fields nestled in the hills.

Riding through this stunning landscape, we are surrounded by majestic and lyrical natural scenery, where terraced fields stretch from the mountaintops all the way down to the valley below. Today, we embark on another unforgettable cycling adventure, riding through the golden season of Hoang Su Phi. Our journey takes us through the breathtaking core of the rice terraces, where the fields stretch from mountaintops to valleys, creating a truly spectacular landscape. As we cycle on mixed terrain roads, we pass through idyllic ethnic villages and terraced fields, heading toward Tan Phong Commune—a beautiful, peaceful stop.

Feel like you're on top of the world as we begin our descent, cycling past villages, and rice and maize terraces cultivated by the Red Dao and Tay tribes. The air is filled with the intoxicating scents of cardamom and star anise, adding to the sensory delight of this remote, scenic journey. Our cycling journey begins on a smooth asphalt road, leading to a junction where we venture onto a secondary road that winds through the picturesque Lam Thuong Valley. This dreamlike destination features rugged villages, breathtaking mountain ranges, and scenic farms and rice paddy fields, offering a perfect mix of natural beauty and local culture.

One of the highlights of today’s adventure is the unique Luc Yen Gem Market, located in the heart of Yen The Town. Luc Yen is renowned for its vibrant gemstone trade, and the market offers a rare opportunity to witness this fascinating tradition. Open only in the early morning hours, from 6:30 AM, it’s a bustling hub where vendors specialize in trading gemstones, including jade, which have been a local craft for over 25 years. This market is one of the largest and most renowned gemstone markets in northern Vietnam, and it’s a must-see for any traveler.

After experiencing the market, we continue our cycling journey on a beautiful single-track trail, passing through lovely village roads. Along the way, we enjoy stunning views of Dao villages and the serene Thac Ba Lake, with its tranquil waters reflecting the surrounding mountains. It's an incredibly peaceful and picturesque spot to capture unforgettable memories.

After a scenic lunch en route, we hop on a transfer vehicle for the final leg of our adventure back to Hanoi, where we conclude this amazing 10-day cycling journey through the untouched beauty of northern Vietnam.
