On your ride, you’ll visit some of Hue’s most significant landmarks, including the Hue Imperial Citadel, Tu Duc Tomb, and Khai Dinh Tomb, which are essential stops for anyone exploring Vietnam's royal architecture. The Imperial Citadel is a UNESCO World Heritage site, a vast complex of over 100 architectural works that showcase the grandeur of the Nguyen Emperors and their mandarins. These structures provide a glimpse into the lavish lifestyle and intricate traditions of the imperial court.

Day 14: Hanoi to Mai Chau Valley - Cycling Adventure through Scenic Landscapes
Our adventure begins at 7:30 AM as we head southwest from Hanoi towards Luong Son, the gateway to the breathtaking Mai Chau Valley in northern Vietnam! Prepare for an unforgettable cycling journey through some of the most scenic mountainous landscapes and picturesque valleys in the country.
Upon arrival in Luong Son, we’ll start our cycling on an undulating tarmac road that offers stunning views of lush rice paddies, vast sugarcane farms, and rolling mountain ranges. The route offers a chance to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of northern Vietnam, with incredible photo opportunities along the way. We’ll stop at a local restaurant for a delicious Vietnamese lunch, where you can savor traditional dishes. After lunch, we'll take a short transfer to the base of the Thung Khe Pass, a gateway to even more spectacular views. From here, we’ll cycle along the Da River for 34 kilometers, passing by peaceful Muong and Thai villages, surrounded by lush greenery and tranquil landscapes. Watch local life unfold as you ride past children playing in the streets and cattle grazing in the fields. This experience offers a unique opportunity to interact with the welcoming villagers. As we approach Mai Chau village in the late afternoon, we’ll make a final stop to enjoy the stunning scenery and snap some photos. Then, it’s off to the Sol Bungalow Resort, nestled in the heart of the valley, for an overnight stay. After a refreshing shower, enjoy a delicious dinner featuring traditional Thai cuisine and experience a vibrant Thai dance performance, immersing yourself in the local culture.
Day 15: Mai Chau - Backroad
Get ready for an amazing cycling adventure in Mai Chau Valley! Picture yourself sipping a hot cup of coffee while watching the sunrise over the mountains and misty rice paddies, set against the backdrop of lush green fields—an unforgettable experience in northern Vietnam. After a hearty breakfast, it’s time to embark on your Mai Chau cycle tour, cycling through a network of single-track paths that connect traditional villages. The views are absolutely stunning as you ride past and across vibrant rice paddies, with a glimpse of the iconic fan palms grown specifically for roofing. This region is rich in culture and natural beauty.
The journey continues as we pass incredible hot springs, suspension bridges, and navigate the contours of picturesque terraced rice fields. You’re in for a treat today! We’ll stop for a delicious lunch at a local family's house to recharge. Afterward, the adventure continues as we cycle on back roads, single tracks, and buffalo trails through bamboo forests and more breathtaking rice fields. We’ll also make a stop at a bamboo chopstick production workshop to witness the craftsmanship of local artisans. Finally, we’ll return to Mai Chau town, where you can relax and unwind after a day of exploration. End the day with a delightful dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at a Mai Chau hotel, bungalow, or ecolodge—the perfect way to rest up for more cycling adventures in the heart of northern Vietnam.
Day 16: Mai Chau to Pu Luong Nature Reserve - Cycling through Villages & Scenic Landscapes
Today, we embark on an exciting cycling adventure through the stunning Mai Chau Valley, a region known for its vibrant Thai and Muong villages set amidst breathtaking terraced rice paddies. Our day begins early as we set off from our homestay and ride along picturesque single track paths that connect traditional villages. The morning atmosphere in the villages is serene, and you’ll marvel at how these communities have thrived for centuries in such a beautiful, remote location. As we ride deeper into the heart of these villages, we’ll have the opportunity to interact with the friendly locals and learn about their unique way of life. Our cycling journey continues as we stop for lunch in Sam Khoe village, a charming spot along the way. Afterward, we’ll ride along scenic back roads towards Hang Village.
Next, we cycle through the Pu Luong Nature Reserve, one of Vietnam’s most pristine and untouched natural areas. As we ascend, prepare to be captivated by the stunning limestone mountains, lush forests, and panoramic views of the reserve’s majestic landscape. We’ll pause at the summit to take in the breathtaking scenery before heading downhill to Pho Doan Market for a well-deserved lunch. After lunch, we enjoy an easy ride along a combination of tarmac roads, buffalo trails, and the cool shade of a bamboo forest, leading us to the quaint Nua village. Upon arrival, unwind with a refreshing shower and a cold drink, soaking in the peaceful surroundings. In the evening, indulge in a delicious dinner and rest for the night in the heart of Pu Luong Nature Reserve.
Day 17: The Gem of Pu Luong Nature Reserve - Cycling Through Villages and Rice Terraces
After a refreshing rest, we’re ready to hit the road and explore more of the stunning Pu Luong Nature Reserve. We begin our day by descending from Pho Doan, then veer off onto a single track trail that winds along the river. Get ready to be mesmerized by traditional water wheels and endless green rice paddies, capturing the essence of rural Vietnam. After breakfast, we jump on our bikes for a short but scenic ride from our retreat to Bang village, nestled in the heart of the valley. As we descend into the stunning Kho Muong Valley, we’ll be greeted by the picturesque views of terraced rice fields that define this tranquil landscape. Along the way, you'll be able to take in the incredible sights from above, immersing yourself in the natural beauty of Pu Luong.
Our adventure continues as we ride to a remote village tucked away in the expansive mountain range. Here, you’ll have the rare opportunity to visit a local family, offering you a glimpse into their authentic way of life. This immersive experience will deepen your understanding of the local culture and traditions. After this cultural exchange, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a local homestay, savoring the flavors of authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Once we've refueled, it’s time to cycle back, retracing our steps along the same single track trail, passing through even more rice paddies on the return journey to the retreat.
Day 18: Pu Luong – Cuc Phuong National Park - Cycling Through Scenic Villages and Lush Terrain
After a delicious breakfast with our wonderful hosts, we begin our journey towards Cuc Phuong National Park, cycling through the lush landscapes of Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Our route takes us along scenic back roads, passing through charming villages and vibrant tribal markets, where we may have the opportunity to capture photos of the local culture before crossing the bridge to Pho Doan, the heart of Pu Luong. As we cycle along the Nature Reserve's scenic corridor path, we’re surrounded by lush sugarcane fields, corn farms, and the picturesque villages of the Thai and Muong tribes. Along the way, we reach Cam Luong, a charming village that offers breathtaking views and a chance to interact with friendly locals, enriching our cultural experience. By noon, we reach the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, a significant landmark, before stopping at a local restaurant in Kim Tan town for a well-deserved lunch. Refueled, we continue our journey for another 45 kilometers, cycling through single track trails and undulating paths. As we pass through rural villages and vibrant rice paddies, sugarcane, and cassava farms, the scenery will leave you speechless. We arrive at Cuc Phuong National Park in the late afternoon, where we’ll check in and unwind after a day full of stunning landscapes and cultural connections. The evening is yours to relax, followed by a delightful dinner. We’ll be staying at the beautiful Cuc Phuong guesthouses or bungalows, nestled in the heart of the park.
Day 19: Cuc Phuong National Park – Tam Coc – Cycling Adventure to Limestone Mountains and Nature Reserves
After a hearty breakfast, we begin an exciting cycling adventure in Cuc Phuong National Park, one of Vietnam’s most stunning natural wonders. A short transfer takes us into the heart of the Cuc Phuong Forest, where we’ll cycle through canopied forest trails and pristine jungle paths on an exclusive, tourist-free route. This scenic journey will lead us all the way to the park’s gate, providing stunning views and a deep connection with nature.
We then stop for a refreshing break before visiting the Endangered Primate Rescue Center, an incredible conservation effort dedicated to protecting rare species. Afterward, we continue our ride to Dong Giao, where we explore a vibrant pineapple plantation and have the chance to sample fresh, locally-grown pineapples from the friendly farmers selling their goods along the road. Next, we cycle through lush landscapes to Tam Diep Township, where we’ll transfer to Tam Coc for a delicious lunch. Afterward, we embark on another cycling leg through majestic limestone mountains, which rise dramatically from the green rice paddies and serene streams, leading us to the Tram Chim Nature Reserve. Day 20: Tam Coc – Ha Long Bay Cruise – Exploring Bai Tu Long Bay and Thien Canh Son Cave
Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of Vietnam's most stunning natural wonders, renowned for its emerald waters, towering limestone islands, pristine beaches, hidden caves, and traditional fishing villages. Today, get ready for an unforgettable adventure as you depart for Ha Long Bay.
At 7:20 AM, you’ll be picked up from your hotel and enjoy a scenic three-hour drive to the port. Upon arrival at 11:30 AM, it’s time to board your luxurious cruise and kick off your journey. Once onboard, enjoy a refreshing welcome drink as you check into your cabin and prepare to set sail on the emerald waters of Bai Tu Long Bay. As the cruise departs, you’ll savor a delicious Vietnamese lunch, offering an authentic taste of local cuisine while passing through Hon Gai, Cam Pha, Oan Lagoon, Monster Head, Teapot Islets, and Thien Canh Son Cave. The highlight of the day is a visit to the mystical Co Cave (also known as Thien Canh Son Cave), tucked away in the bay. Hike up to the cave’s entrance and marvel at the sparkling stalactites and natural formations that adorn the cave’s interior. The breathtaking views from the cave will leave you in awe! After exploring the cave, return to the boat for a spectacular sunset party as you anchor in the tranquil waters of Cong Dam. Day 21: Ha Long Bay – Hanoi – Departure
Start your day early with a breathtaking view of Ha Long Bay's stunning limestone islands and pristine waters. Embrace the tranquility of the morning with a Tai Chi session on the sundeck, followed by a hearty breakfast onboard, preparing you for another day of exploration. Next, we’ll embark on a 45-minute guided exploration of one of Ha Long Bay's legendary caves, famous for its awe-inspiring stalagmites and stalactites. Each natural formation has its own fascinating story, adding a mystical touch to the experience.
After a truly unforgettable visit to the cave, we’ll return to the boat for check-out, settle the bill, and prepare to head back to port. As you sail back, you’ll have time to reflect on your journey through the emerald waters of Ha Long Bay. Upon arrival at the port, our driver will meet you for your transfer back to Hanoi. On the way, we'll stop for a refreshing break before continuing on to Noi Bai International Airport. Make sure to arrive in time for your flight, marking the end of your incredible adventure in Vietnam.
