Day 1: Arrive in Hanoi

Day 2: Hanoi – Nam Hong
Depart for the mountainous province of Ha Giang, in the far north of Vietnam, where you will discover the most spectacular landscapes and colorful ethnic people, as you will progress throughout the hike. During the trip you will have the opportunity to taste one of the most refreshing drinks in the country, sugar cane juice. After lunch, you will conclude with a typical Vietnamese filtered coffee. Although it takes a while to taste it, it is worth waiting for it.
You will gain in altitude reaching the village of Nam Hong (altitude: 669 meters) where the climb will allow you to discover the first subjugating landscapes of the region. The small village of Nam Hong is home of the Dao minority and of your local guide.

Day 3: Nam Hong – Nam Son
The first day trek will start in Nam Hong. After the breakfast prepared by the Dao, you will begin your ascent crossing rice paddies and stunning landscapes, the heart of the region where the Dao live. Then you will descent again reaching the valley where Nam Son is located (altitude: 614 meters).

Day 4: Nam Son – Phin Ho
From Nam Son you will begin the trek starting gaining altitude, crossing the tea plantations that dominate the hills surrounding Phin Ho (Ho (altitude: 970 meters). The climb will allow you to discover the breathtaking landscapes of the region. The small village of Phin Ho is home of the Nung ethnic group.

Day 5: Phin Ho (Ta Su Cheng ) - Hop Nhat – Ban Chung Phung
After the breakfast prepared by the Nung, you will begin your ascent crossing the Bridge and reaching the other side of the mountain. During the climb, the views are increasingly clear and the landscape of rice fields stunning. In this region the cultivation of rice is the main activity. You will also discover old Nung houses and tea plantations. Arriving from the top of the mountain to the village of Hop Nhat you will be able to enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. Enjoy a hearty lunch prepared by the Dao family and then leave to reach the beginning of the jungle, where the local Hmong family will welcome you.

Day 6: Ban Chung Phung – Summit Tay Con Linh
The hike of the day will take you up to the summit of Tay Con Linh crossing a rugged jungle. This will be perhaps the most challenging day but the most rewarding in terms of sceneries. You will be one with the jungle for an entire day and you will overnight in a hut in the heart of the jungle (altitude: 2,176 meters).

Day 7: Hut in the jungle – Sam Ve Village
During this day most of the trip will be in the jungle, and significant effort and technique will be required. After reaching the crest of the mountain, walk for a few kilometers, beginning the descent towards Sam Ve. The path is in the jungle with dense vegetation and some steep descents.
After a lunch break the vegetation will change again, the bamboo will leave space to cardamom fields. The way is pleasant and again you will enjoy the waterfalls for a swim, and then do as the locals, chew some cinnamon stems, a natural “chewing gum” in the area. After having accomplished 2 and half days of walking you will reach again the civilized world, arriving in Sam Ve (altitude: 509 meters). You will be welcomed in the finest house of the village and will enjoy all the comfort that it can offer.

Day 8: Sam Ve Village – Cao Bo – Dong Van
Start the day with a walk along the river towards Cao Bo, from where you will see beautiful waterfalls. Once in Cao Bo (altitude: 279 meters), transfer to Dong Van via a mountain road with beautiful views, including the notable twin mountains of Quan Ba. Arrive in Dong Van (altitude: 1,088 meters), the main town of the district, and go for a free stroll in the city before dinner.

Day 9: Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng – Meo Vac
The last day of trek will take place through the rocky paths of Dong Van region and the corn plantations located on the scarce terrain plots available amongst Dong Van’s rocks. 80% of the surface of the Dong Van plateau are covered by rocks, with high concentration of rocky peaks of over 2,000 meters above sea level. In this region the cultivation is very difficult due to the harsh terrain. The farmers are making a lot of efforts to reap the benefits from it. You will cross several Hmong villages: Ha To, Kho Thong, De Lia, Ha Chu Pua. You will stop for a picnic lunch by the river/ (in case of bad weather you will eat in a local house).
Right after lunch you will keep walking your way to the majestic Ma Pi Leng (altitude: 1,061 meters), with the Chinese mountains visible in the distance. A spectacular latter hiking landscape that will be etched in your minds forever. To celebrate the end of this trek you will be able to relax rewarded with one of the most spectacular views of Vietnam. Then you will reach Meo Vac by car (altitude: 998 meters), and visit the city or relax at the hotel upon arrival.

It will be a long journey on the road to reach Ba Be. You will arrive in Ba Be National Park early in the evening, reaching the village of Pac Ngoi and a local stilt house with a beautiful view over the lake

Your morning will be devoted to a three-hour kayak ride on Ba Be Lake, surrounded by steep mountains with tropical vegetation. You will discover the Puong cave, shaped by the rivers that have carved the Limestone Mountains around the lake. Departure on afternoon to Hanoi by bus.

Day 12: Hanoi – Bai Tu Long - Halong Bay
Around 08.00 to 08.30 Am, our tour bus and guide will come to your hotel and pick you up for Ha Long tour. After 4 hours ride (including 30 minute break) you will arrive Hon Gai harbor. We will go on board with welcome drink and welcome briefing from Cruise Manager. Enjoy Vietnamese set menu lunch while cruising through Bai Tu Long Bay and into Ha Long Bay. Start to discover the floating Vung Vieng fishing village while sitting on rowing boats with local people. Arrive at Ban Chan Beach, you will spend your time for swimming, sunbathing or enjoy kayaking around the area.
In the afternoon, relax and enjoy the sunset cocktail while the boat is cruising to Cong Dong - Cong Do area. Docking for overnight. Around 07.30, Enjoy romantic dinning experience on top deck with BBQ dinner and Vietnamese cuisines (If weather permit and group is over 15 people). The fishing experience with locals provides you further ideas about local lifestyle of people in Ha Long Bay. You will spend your rest of afternoon for more relaxing time or swimming and kayaking around the area. By late afternoon, we will return to main Garden Bay Cruise. Day 14: Halong Bay – Hanoi - Airport
If you are a morning person then today you can rise early for our morning tai chi session on the sundeck. Enjoy a hot cup of coffee and admire the tranquil atmosphere of Ha Long Bay in early morning. Light breakfast will be served in restaurant. Around 08.00, you will transfer to Island nearby, climb up small steps to explore the Thien Canh Son Cave. This is one of the biggest cave and most impressive of Ha long Bay with rich history and geology value but still very wild and untouched by human. After 1-hour cave tour, we are back to the boat for check out, put your luggage out to corridor and settle your bill at restaurant. Lunch will be served in restaurant while the boat is cruising back to harbor. We will transfer directly to Noi Bai Airport to catch the international flight back your homes or connect regional flight. Our services will be ended.
