Climb into the mountains on the first day of your Far North adventure tours,, leaving the Red River Delta area of Hanoi for the town of Ha Giang. You'll spend two days making your way to the Chinese border town of Meo Vac. Villages of the Tay, H'mong and Tay people dot the road and there will be plenty of time to stop enjoy the scenic views and wander through the hilltribe hamlets.
Your Ha Giang breathtaking rocky mountain trip continues with a short drive along the Chinese border to Dong Van, the country's northernmost point. Have your camera read as you climb what is known as 'Heaven's Pass' and meet with more curious locals near the border. It is here in Dong Van area, amid the towering hills, that you will discover one of the most diverse stretches of the north. In one day you'll rub shoulders with vendors from several area hilltribes as they trade their wares at the market, step back in time at the palace of a former H'mong king and see traces of Chinese influence in Pho Bang where the local houses reflect old Chinese style. A truly memorable part of your Vietnam tour. On day 5, the final day of your Vietnam tour, drive through the Tam Son Valley where you will take a short trek to a H'mong village. Passing back through Ha Giang at midday the road then begins to flatten out as you approach Hanoi and the buzz of the city. Day 1: Ha Noi – Ha Giang
Having hearty breakfast in hotel, leaving the hustling and bustling city behind, our shuttle bus tka transfer 5 hours on newly upgrated road lead to Thai Nguyen. As you leave the Red River Delta the scenery will start to change as you enter the mountains of Northern Vietnam. You will arrive in Tuyen Quang around noon and enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. After your meal, continue the drive to Ha Giang which is the northernmost province in Vietnam, consisting of breathtaking scenery, a colorful array of hill tribes and vibrant local markets (these rotate on a daily basis). As this is a remote area, accommodation and facilities are of basic level however we’ll make sure your journey is as comfortable as possible. On arrival in Ha Giang check into hotel to refresh then take an afternoon walk to a Tay Hill Tribe village, beautifully set in a stunning valley close to town. Return to your hotel for an evening free at leisure. A homestay at a Tay village as an option for tonight.

Day 2: Ha Giang – Meo Vac
Today you will take a fantastic 6hour drive to the town of Meo Vac, located along the Chinese border. The journey will take you past many villages, inhabited by different colorful hill tribe groups. This area, like most of Ha Giang, is inhabited by the H’Mong hill tribe. The H’mong group is believed to have migrated from southern China into Vietnam only over the last 300 years and today they live in villages throughout the north of the country. We will have several stops on the way for visit tribal villages and photo opportunities such as Quan Ba Pass; Quan Ba Heaven Gate... At midday, you will have a break for lunch in a local restaurant in Yen Minh town before continuing the scenic drive to Meo Vac. The karst landscape in the afternoon will definitely amazes you. Arrive at the town, check into a hotel. The remainder of the day is free at leisure. Overnight at Auberge in Meo Vac.

Day 3: Meo Vac – Dong Van
Begin this morning with a visit to the fabulous Meo Vac Market, where vendors come from the surroundings. At the market,they buy and sell fresh produce as well as dry goods (on Sunday the market is particularly busy as it is a weekly market for the surrounding villages). Then we set off for Dong Van, along another beautiful stretch of road. The trip passes through Ma Pi Leng, which is also known as ‘Heaven’s Gate Pass’ as it gives the feeling of touching the sky. The drive skirts the Chinese border through a deep valley. Have a stop at the best corner for some taking photographs and admire the august scenery. Arrive at Dong Van around lunchtime and check into a hotel. In the afternoon, take an easy hike along the road of the Old Quarter and hike further to see the rice field from a small path which goes along the mountains. Get picked up by the car if necessary. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Dong Van.

Day 4: Dong Van –Lung Cu Flagtower – Yen Minh – Tam Son
Following breakfast, you leave Dong Van for a spectacular drive to Lung Cu, the northernmost point of Vietnam. Climb to the top of the tower for a panorama view over the area which is very near Chinese border. Thence, we take a walk to visit a village of the Lo Lo hill tribe to learn about their unique culture and customs (there is a weekly market here held on Fridays). From Lung Cu we continue on driving to the Palace of the last H’Mong King which is located in Saphin Village. After visiting the Follow us: palace and lunch, we drive onwards to Pho Bang Town where old style Chinese influenced houses can be seen. These traditional houses are made from clay houses and feature distinctive ‘yin and yang’ tile roofs. Take a short walk around narrow streets of this charming town before heading for Tam Son (Quan Ba). Check into a hotel on arrival. Overnight at hotel in Quan Ba.

Day 5: Yen Minh – Hoang Su Phi – Thong Nguyen
After the morning drive back to Ha Giang City on the same road, you can see the difference of the topography in Hoang Su Phi area compared with the places you have visited in Meo Vac & Dong Van. It is good with the change and the different beauties that Ha Giang has to offer and it enriches our adventure. Upon arrival at Pan Hou ecolodge, check in and overnight at the lodge.

Day 6: Hoang Su Phi Trekking
Spend the whole day for trekking to visit the hill tribe villages of Tay, Black Dao and Red Dao people. Along the hike you will have a chance to view how marvelous the rice terraces are. Back to the lodge around 4:00 PM. The rest of the day is at leisure or enjoy the optional traditional treatments (massage and herbal bath). Spend the second night in the lodge.

Day 7: Hoang Su Phi – Hanoi
After the breakfast at the lodge, we start our journey back to Hanoi. Have lunch on the way. Arrive in Hanoi late in the afternoon and get dropped off at your own arranged hotel.
