Just 4.5 hours from Hanoi city centre by car, Pu Luong is the perfect place to escape the chaos of work and life. Come and enjoy the sweet, impressive and unique Pu Luong Nature Reserve, where you can leave all your worries behind!
Just a short 170 km drive from Hanoi or 40 km from Mai Chau, Pu Luong Nature Reserve is a truly special place. It's a fantastic example of a Karst limestone ecosystem, renowned for its incredible complexity, richness and beauty. Cycling in Pu Luong is one of the best ways to discover the natural beauty of the region and the exotic culture of the ethnic minority groups – it's a truly magical experience! This lovely bike tour includes some off-road experiences, mountain biking and homestay experiences.
This wonderful 5-day, 4-night Pu Luong – Mai Chau adventure cycling tour in Northern Vietnam is specially and uniquely designed for those who are looking for a health and fitness vacation, nature lovers and outdoor sports activities in the wild north of Vietnam.
Mountain bikers will absolutely love this ride! It offers a wonderful variety of terrains, from gorgeous single tracks to rolling rough jeep trails and some lovely hikes along the way. As we ride over the slopes, we'll pass through many villages, past lush rice paddies and above the valley for some truly stunning views!
As we ride through Pu Luong Nature Reserve, we meet the lovely Muong and Thai people, who live in traditional stilt houses. It's a wonderful opportunity to see how they live! You'll also get to taste some delicious local dishes, like rice pot and grilled meat. And you'll have a chance to enjoy traditional dances, cultural performances (bronze, drums, gongs) and Thai ethnic dance.
Day 01: Hanoi – Cuc Phuong – Cam Luong – Pu Luong Cycling tours
After breakfast at the hotel, we'll take a lovely three-hour transfer along the Ho Chi Minh Highway to Hoang Duc Restaurant, where we'll enjoy lunch together. After a lovely lunch, we'll hop on the bus and head to Cam Quy junction for another 30 minutes or so. Once we arrive at the cycling point, it'll be time for a new cycling day on a gorgeous route! We'll be cycling through some truly breathtaking scenery, including lush fields of sugarcane, cassava farms, and rice terraces, as well as tropical forests and towering limestone mountain ranges. We'll also get to explore some special buffer zones within Pu Luong. We'll also visit Luong and Cuc Phuong National Park, which is home to a wonderful variety of plants and animals, as well as the unique Thai, Muong, and King cultures. We'll cross the Ban Cong bridge and continue our journey on a village road that leads to an eco-lodge or eco-home garden in Pu Luong Nature Reserve. We'll check in and spend the night at the Jungle Lodge, which is located in a beautiful Thai hill tribal village.

Day 02; The Gem of Nature Reserve
Once we've recharged our full energy, we're ready to hit the road again! We're off to Kho Muong village, where we'll turn off onto a lovely single track trail along the river. Along the way, we'll soak in some stunning scenery and admire the green rice paddy fields.
We continue our journey on a lovely concrete road, meandering through rice terraces and bamboo forests, and descending into a truly beautiful valley. Along the way, we'll make our way to the charming Lanh Village. As we make our way along, you'll have the chance to enjoy the stunning terraced rice fields. Once you've enjoyed the amazing views from above, we'll visit a lovely, isolated village that's nestled in a huge mountain range. You'll even get to meet a local family! This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the lifestyle and culture of the local community. We hop back on our bikes and cycle along a lovely single track trail, winding amongst lush bamboo forests and rice paddied fields, all the way to Ban Hieu village. We then have the chance to tackle a short but steep distance along a stream, which leads us to an amazing waterfall where we have a picnic lunch nearby.
Once we've had a chance to recharge our energies, we'll be back on our bikes! We'll be making our way through the tropical forest and along the stream to Ban Cong village, where we'll have the chance to admire some wonderful water wheels along the way. They really add a splash of colour and character to the scenery!
Once we've finished admiring the beautiful scenery, we'll get back on our bikes and head back to the resort. Or, if you'd prefer, we can take a transfer back for a refreshing drink or two!

Day 03: Pu Luong Cycle tour Mai Chau
Wake up nice and early to soak up the fresh air and gorgeous views of the rice terraces from our lovely ecolodge. Enjoy a lovely hot drink while you admire the gorgeous sunrise over the mountain. We'll kick off our new Pu Luong cycling day from the lovely homestay or ecolodge. We're so excited for you to enjoy the absolutely brilliant Pu Luong scenery as we cycle through the very heart of the Nature Reserve!
The first stage of our trip is a bit of a challenge, but it's totally worth it! We'll be climbing up a new paved road or dirt track, through villages and rice terraces. But the best is yet to come! You'll be blown away by the incredible scenic beauty of Pu Luong Nature Reserve.
The second stage is a lovely descent. You'll have a chance to relax your legs for a while while we cycle the Ho Chi Minh Trail to the T-junction of Co Luong.
We'll be cycling along some lovely back roads, through some really lovely little villages. You'll get to experience Mai Chau up close and personal, including a visit to a bamboo factory and some of the surrounding villages like Poom Coong or Lac village. After a lovely lunch, we'll start cycling on a beautiful single-track trail around the Mai Chau Valley.

Day 04 : Mai Chau mountain Bike Back Road
Come and enjoy a wonderful adventure day in a truly beautiful valley! You'll be able to sip a hot coffee while admiring the magnificent dawn shining over the mountains and misty valley with its lush green rice paddy fields.
After a delicious breakfast, we set off on a wonderful Mai Chau cycle tour through different villages on a mix of good single track paths that link from villages to others. The view is absolutely stunning as the ride passes and crosses lush rice paddies. What makes this area really special are the unique fan palms, which are grown specifically to be used for roofing.
We even get to pass some lovely hot springs, cycle across some suspension bridges and follow the contours around some beautiful terraced rice fields. We're lucky enough to stop for lunch with a lovely local family along the way. After a lovely lunch, we'll cycle back along some beautiful single tracks and buffalo trails through terraced rice fields and a gorgeous bamboo forest. We'll also stop by a lovely bamboo chopstick production workshop. Then, we'll cycle back to Mai Chau town. When you arrive, Take some time to relax by yourself. We'll have dinner together and then you can stay overnight in a lovely hotel, bungalow or ecolodge.

Day 05 : Mai Chau Bike Tour Thung Khe – Lo – Muong Khen - Hanoi
Guess what! Today is our last amazing bicycle adventure tour day in Northern Vietnam. We had a lovely hearty breakfast in the hotel and now we're all set to go! Our lovely support vehicle will take us on a short transfer from the sleepy Valley Mai Chau to the top of Thung Khe. Once we get to the cycling point, we'll set off our bikes and head into the local market. Then we'll turn on to the secondary road, which takes us through rice paddy fields, cornfields, and even a sugar plantation. Along the way, we'll get to experience the tranquil village life. We also get to cycle on a lovely scenic road that winds its way along the hillsides and through a sparsely populated region to Man Duc. We'll have lunch in a lovely local restaurant. Once you've had your meal, We'll then take a three-hour transfer back to Hanoi, arriving back in the late afternoon.
