Day 01: Hanoi to Ba Be Cycling Adventure
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we’ll bid farewell to the vibrant city of Hanoi and embark on an exciting two-hour transfer to Ba Be. Our journey begins with a scenic shuttle bus ride through the new highway in Thai Nguyen, offering glimpses of northern Vietnam’s stunning landscapes. Once we arrive at our cycling point, we’ll set off on a smooth tarmac road, passing through the untouched ATK region – a historical Vietminh revolutionary base. Prepare for an unforgettable cycling experience as we pedal through peaceful Vietnamese villages, surrounded by lush greenery and dramatic mountain views.
One of the highlights of this day is our visit to a traditional paper-making village, where we’ll immerse ourselves in local culture and craftsmanship. After a delicious lunch at a charming local restaurant, we’ll hop back on our bikes to continue our scenic cycling journey. We’ll ride through serene forests, with trees stretching overhead and mountains rising in the distance. Along the way, we’ll conquer a few gentle hills, cycle beside a peaceful river, and pass through more quaint villages before descending into the beautiful Ba Be Lake area.
By the end of the day, we’ll arrive at our cozy lakeside bungalow, nestled right on the shores of Ba Be Lake. After recharging at our Ba Be Lakeside Bungalow, we’ll set off on a scenic cycling route that takes us around the stunning Ba Be Lake. The highlight of today’s ride is cycling along tarmac roads, passing through charming hill tribe villages and experiencing spectacular mountain passes. As we ride through the lush landscape, we’ll pass rice terraces and quaint villages perched on the hillside, offering a truly authentic view of rural life in northern Vietnam.
Our cycling adventure will take us to the Son Lo Section (75 km), where we’ll stop for a well-deserved lunch at the summit. After refueling, we’ll continue our ride, conquering rolling hills and mountain slopes as we make our way toward Bao Lac, a peaceful town nestled in the mountains. Once we arrive, it’s time for a well-earned rest before we transfer back to our hotel. Get ready for an exhilarating day of cycling as we continue our Bao Lac to Cao Bang bike tour! Today promises some of the most breathtaking scenery and incredible views that northern Vietnam has to offer. After enjoying a traditional Vietnamese breakfast at a local restaurant, we’ll begin our cycling journey with a challenging yet rewarding 12 km ascent up a steep pass. As we wind our way through the rugged mountains, we’ll capture stunning views of deep valleys, terraced rice fields, and dramatic hillsides.
Throughout the day, we’ll stop frequently to admire the panoramic vistas and take in the beauty of the lush landscape. Our route will bring us to the top of the mountain, where we’ll be greeted by a peaceful village before tackling several more hilly passes and navigating the rugged terrain of the region. The mountains here are truly impressive, with peaks soaring between three to fifteen storeys high.
After a challenging yet rewarding climb, we’ll descend into a picturesque valley for a well-deserved picnic lunch. Once we’ve recharged our energy, we’ll gear up for the final climb before descending into the charming town of Thong Nong. From there, we’ll take a scenic secondary road and cycle along undulating paths that lead us to Cao Bang city—a perfect end to an unforgettable day of cycling through northern Vietnam.

Day 04: Cao Bang to Tra Linh Cycling Adventure
Today marks the first day of the exciting Cao Bang Cycling Loop, and we're ready for an unforgettable journey! After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we’ll kick off the day with a thrilling cycling adventure from Cao Bang to Pac Po, a historic site nestled among towering limestone mountains and lush landscapes. As we ride on tarmac roads, we’ll pass rugged mountains, expansive tobacco farms, and enjoy stunning vistas of the surrounding countryside.
Our first major stop is the Pac Po monument, located near the border with China at the 108th milestone. This historic site holds great significance in Vietnam's revolutionary history, as Ho Chi Minh chose this spot as a base during the initial stages of the Vietnamese Revolution. It’s a remarkable place to learn about Ho Chi Minh's life and the country's fight for independence.
After paying our respects, we’ll continue our journey by cycling through a rustic hill tribe village, then head towards Nam Nhung commune for a well-deserved break. The cycling terrain will vary, including gravel paths, hidden trails, and charming village roads, all leading us to the Luu Ngoc Commune for a delicious picnic lunch surrounded by nature.
Recharged and ready to go, we’ll continue our ride through magnificent limestone mountains, lush rice paddy fields, and peaceful rivers, heading towards the magical Nam Tra village and the famous Eyes Mountain. As we approach this breathtaking natural wonder, you'll be immersed in the fairy-tale landscape, where majestic views and the setting sun create an unforgettable experience.
After soaking in the magical beauty of the Eyes Mountain, we’ll hop onto a single-track trail, winding through rugged mountains and streams, making our way to Cao Chuong village. From here, we’ll cycle on the tarmac road, heading toward our final destination of the day—Tra Linh town, a vibrant town that marks the end of today’s adventure in the heart of Cao Bang.

The journey continues as we reach Trung Khanh Town, where we’ll take a detour onto a dirt road and single-track trail that winds through rustic hill tribe villages, past towering limestone mountains, and stunning vistas of lush rice fields and green corn fields.
One of the day’s highlights is cycling along the Quay Son River, where the crystal-clear waters and serene landscapes will leave you speechless. We’ll ride along the border, cross a charming bamboo bridge, and cycle through even more beautiful villages surrounded by rice paddies. After a scenic ride, we’ll stop for lunch at a welcoming eco homestay before continuing our journey toward the magnificent Ban Gioc Waterfall.
In the afternoon, you’ll have the option to either cycle closer to the waterfall or enjoy a peaceful kayaking adventure along the Quay Son River. After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we’ll gear up for another incredible day of cycling through northern Vietnam.
Our route will take us along the border, heading toward Hanh Lang town. Today’s ride promises an exciting challenge, as we’ll tackle some hilly passes and switchbacks along the way. But the rewards are well worth the effort! As we cycle through peaceful villages, rice paddies, and along scenic rivers, you’ll be treated to some of the most marvelous landscapes in the region.
The first stage of our ride will be relatively undulating, with stunning views of lush rice fields and charming villages. The second stage, however, is where the real challenge begins. We’ll conquer three steep passes, but don’t worry – the effort will be well-rewarded by the surrounding natural beauty. After reaching the summit of the final pass, we’ll stop for a well-deserved picnic lunch.
Following lunch, we’ll descend on a newly paved road that leads us into the tranquil town of Quang Uyen. After checking in, you’ll have time to relax and unwind before enjoying a well-earned dinner. Day 07: Quang Uyen to Hanoi Cycling Adventure
Get ready for another unforgettable day in Cao Bang as we set off on a breathtaking cycling adventure through the stunning Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark. After a delicious breakfast at a local restaurant, we’ll begin our journey from the hotel, cycling through a vibrant morning market before heading towards the beautiful Phi Hai village. Along the way, you’ll witness the daily lives of the locals and experience the charm of traditional rural life.
Our route will take us through a steep pass, leading us into a dreamlike valley surrounded by limestone mountains and stunning landscapes. The first part of the ride will feature incredible scenic vistas and peaceful rustic villages that will leave you in awe. We’ll also explore the Lan Duoi village, where you’ll see local artisans crafting traditional baskets and even have the opportunity to try it yourself!
Next, we’ll visit Pia Thap village, known for its age-old tradition of making stick incense. This cultural experience offers a unique glimpse into the local heritage. After exploring the village, we’ll continue our ride through a challenging mountain pass that offers an incredible view of Phia Thap village and its surrounding mountains—an awe-inspiring and truly magical moment.
The cycling route continues across a gorgeous meadow, where we’ll pass by lush maize fields and the striking limestone pinnacles that define the Cao Bang landscape. We’ll pass through the charming Tu Do and Hanh Phuc communes, where we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch to recharge our energy.
After lunch, we’ll continue cycling on a hilly road towards Dong Dang Town, where we’ll hop on a transfer to avoid the heavy traffic on the way to Hanoi. This day offers an incredible mix of cycling, cultural exploration, and some of the most spectacular landscapes in northern Vietnam.
