Day 1: Hanoi – Hop Thinh – Long Coc – Xuan Son Cycling Adventure

Day 03: Phù Yên – Tà Xùa Cycling Adventure

Our route takes us along a newly paved road that connects two of the poorest districts in the northwest of Vietnam: Yên Bái and Sơn La.  As we ascend towards the hilltop, you'll be greeted with a breathtaking view of white clouds floating above and a serene valley below, offering a magnificent panoramic scene that will leave you in awe. This is one of the most scenic cycling routes in Vietnam, offering a combination of natural beauty and a sense of adventure.  We start the day with a 12km ride out of town on relatively flat roads, passing through lush terraced rice paddies and rolling hills. As we continue, we'll cycle through ethnic minority villages, offering a glimpse into the rich local culture. The next 25km will take us on winding mountain roads, heading into the majestic limestone mountain range, where towering rock formations line the route. The highlight of the ride is the 600-meter climb towards the Bắc Yên mountain pass, offering a thrilling challenge. Along the way, we’ll cycle through cloud-covered mountain villages, where you’ll be greeted by the warm smiles of the local communities. At the summit, we’ll be treated to incredible views of the Hang Dong Valley and the Ta Xùa Nature Reserve.

We’ll take a well-deserved lunch break at the top, soaking in the awe-inspiring landscape. After recharging, we’ll continue our ride, heading towards Camel Ledge, the Lonely Tree, Ta Xùa Meadows, and the Dolphin Ledge. Each stop offers spectacular panoramic views over the nature reserve, giving you the perfect opportunity to snap photos and admire the surrounding beauty. Once we’ve had time to enjoy the views and take in the scenery, we’ll cycle back to Ta Xùa Ecolodge for a peaceful overnight stay, ready for more adventures in the days to come. This day offers a unique blend of mountain cycling, cultural immersion, and stunning natural beauty, making it a truly memorable experience in the heart of Northern Vietnam.

As the day progresses, we’ll watch as the Ta Xùa mountains don their mysterious, somber cloak, adding an element of awe to our journey.  The cycling today will present a challenge, but it’s worth every moment! We’ll cycle on a newly paved road that connects two of the poorest districts in the Yên Bái and Sơn La provinces of Northwest Vietnam. This new route offers a thrilling experience, weaving through picturesque landscapes, remote villages, and dramatic mountain terrain. The highlight of the day is the route from Tà Xùa to Trạm Tấu, which takes us along the famous dinosaur spine mountain ranges. Day 06: Nghĩa Lộ – Gia Hỏi – Phong Dù – Trại Hút (75 km)

Today marks the final day of our Vietnam bike tour, taking you through the stunning Far North region of Vietnam! Get ready for an action-packed, exhilarating ride as we tackle the pinnacle of the Ta Xua and Trạm Tấu routes in Northern Vietnam. After an energizing start, we’ll set out on our last cycling day, filled with challenges, stunning landscapes, and unforgettable experiences.

The day begins with a 30 km cycling journey along winding mountain roads that ascend and descend through the picturesque hillsides and slopes. Our route will lead us to the local Gia Hỏi junction, where we’ll explore the bustling market and experience local culture. From here, we’ll leave the single road behind, descending into the lowlands, where we’ll cycle through tropical forests, cinnamon jungles, and past amazing waterfalls. As we continue, we’ll pass by vibrant rice terraces and lush paddy fields, making our way to Phong Dù for a scenic picnic lunch.

After recharging, it’s time to get back on our bikes and continue the journey. We’ll ride along a picturesque road that snakes through lush acacia forests and rustic ethnic villages, offering a truly authentic experience of rural Vietnam. Our route will eventually bring us to the new Hanoi - Lao Cai highway, where we’ll transition from bike to vehicle for the final leg of our journey.

Once the cycling is complete, we’ll load up our bikes and transfer the rest of the distance back to Hanoi, reflecting on the incredible mountain landscapes, traditional villages, and cultural encounters that have made this bike tour of Northern Vietnam truly unforgettable.
